Facebook 'Look Back' Videos Shared Almost 100 Million Times

Millions of Facebook users took a trip down memory lane last week to commemorate the company's 10th celebration.

In respect of rotating a ten years vintage, Facebook provided users the option of downloading a "Look Back" video that best features the top moments from their profile over the past 10 years. As it turns out, the gift was well-received: Nearly 200 million users watched their video, and approximately half of those shared it with their associates, according to Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg.

Sandberg mentioned the numbers at the Goldman Sachs expertise and Internet seminar Tuesday night in San Francisco. "It was amazing," she said, according to CNET. "It ... displayed the power of the Facebook brand."

Facebook, which has 1.23 billion hardworking users worldwide, has unveiled alike characteristics for users in the past. At the end of both 2012 and 2013, the communal network suggested users a Year in reconsider that assembled their top mails and tales from the previous 12 months.

Other communal networks have utilized alike strategies in the past to pay users. Twitter partnered with online-presentation company Vizify in 2012 to provide "Your year on Twitter" videos, which highlights users' top tweets and followers. The characteristic still works today, and users can edit or share their videos on their profiles.

Google+ furthermore rolled out a Year in reconsider feature for the first time in December.
